Aged Care Find welcomes Melaleuca Home For The Aged in East Devonport, TAS 7310 residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms by bringing items from their previous homes.

Melaleuca is a community owned and operated, not for profit facility. We currently provide HIGH care for the Aged for the local community in the Devonport region. We are a small family oriented facility with long serving dedicated staff. Our staff are well trained, friendly and committed to Aged Care. Melaleuca is situated in East Devonport (just up from the Ferry Terminal). We overlook the Wetlands (to the South) where wildlife and birds abound. To our East is the Devonport Recreation Centre and the Football Oval along with sweeping views to farmlands beyond. We are surrounded by beautiful gardens and open space with (wheelchair safe) footpaths around the facility for strolls amongst the gardens. We have 2 internal courtyards with raised garden beds for any "budding" gardening enthusiasts. Melaleuca has also has a LARGE Mural Courtyard that is a great venue for family Bar B Q and gatherings. The Courtyard has a number of Large Murals that depict stories of Devonport, Melaleuca and our History. Again all areas have wheelchair access. We run our own Kitchen / Dining - and provide meals via the purchase of fresh, local ingredients. We also have our own Laundry for all your Laundry requirements except for dry cleaning. Melaleuca has a small Hairdressing Salon and a hairdresser that attends regularly. Our accommodation varies depending upon the age of each room. Melaleuca was established 30 plus years ago and therefore some of our Bedrooms are older than others. However all rooms are clean and well maintained to ensure that your immediate environment is pristine and that you are safe, warm and comfortable. All furniture and bedding is provided by Melaleuca, however some families choose to bring small family "special" items in when they arrive. Small china cabinets and reclining chairs are an example of additional furniture items that some choose to bring with them. Melaleuca is a "semi" secure facility that provides for your care, health, safety and well-being. We have a great environment and easy access with a large visitors carpark. We have an excellent Leisure and Lifestyle program with a number of outings and internal social activities like bingo, sing-a-longs etc....
